British Sign Language Courses
Approved centre by Awarding Body Signature, we offer the first step of your journey with Level 1 Award in British Sign Language then continuing on to Level 2 Certificate in British Sign Language and of course you continue from there! Both courses are accredited qualifications
Starting with your first experience.....
Level 1 Award in BSL
The qualification is divided into three units, BSL101, BSL102 & BSL103. To achieve the full Level 1 Award in British Sign Language, candidates must pass all units.
BSL competence standards include requirements for students to have sufficient sight, manual dexterity, facial and body movements to produce and receive BSL.
Level 1 is suitable for those who:
• Want to learn basic language skills to communicate simple conversations with Deaf People
• Want to learn new language skills as part of a programme of study
• Want to progress to more advanced study and/or employment using BSL in the future
• Are parents, family, friends or colleagues of Deaf people
Level 2 BSL ......
Level 2 Certificate in BSL
This qualification is divided into three units; BSL201, BSL202 & BSL203. To achieve the full Level 2 Certificate, students must pass all units.
Level 2 is suitable for those who:
• Wish to achieve language skills at an intermediate level to improve communication with Deaf people
• Are Deaf and wish to gain a qualification in their native language
• Are family, friends and colleagues of Deaf people
• Want to progress from Level 1 BSL, going on to more advanced levels of study in BSL at a later date
